Mustafa Burmawala is a well-known Bollywood actor and film producer. He is the nephew of Mastan Alibhai Burmawala. Before becoming an assistant director for Abbas-Mustan, he attended a filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy for a year and a half, which helped him learn the basics of art. Later he went to the National School of Drama (NSD) for 6 months where he trained his acting skills under the guidance of NSD Director NK Sharma. Mustafa never wanted to be an actor, he always wanted to become a director after completing his filmmaking course.
Being an assistant director he always played a key role in storytelling and acting in some scenes with Abbas-Mustan. For making the lead for Machine, he worked on the script of the film for four-five months to understand each and every scene, shot, and dialogue of it. To convince his father and uncle that he wanted to play the lead, he made a 13-minute showrail for them, which he shot over two days. Then he was on board for Machine.
